Art therapy uses the creative process to identify and resolve thoughts, attitudes, and feelings that present obstacles to emotional and cognitive growth. Art is a language of symbols-the same language of symbols that our subconscious uses in dreams. At Creative Arts Therapy Studio, PLLC, artwork is created to give *voice* to the subconscious allowing patients to deepen insight, increase well-being and build the lives they want to live.
Through the creative process, patients learn about themselves, their drives, their emotional needs, emotional injuries, and how to successfully heal those injuries. Patients are encouraged to explore their inner lives in a non-judgmental, compassionate environment and supported while learning coping skills to manage symptoms, conflict and stressors.
I work with children, adolescents, adults, seniors, and families. Please be aware that I have therapy animals on site. The therapy animals are only part of sessions at the request of the patient.
