In our work together I will offer you strategies to enhance your life through the use of mindfulness, behavioral, and cognitive techniques. My approach is direct, compassionate, empowering, and non-judgmental.

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Women's Studies (2002) from Agnes Scott College and a Master's of Science in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University (2005). I have been practicing Dialectical Behavior Therapy for fifteen years and have been intensively trained in DBT through Behavioral Tech.

Adolescent DBT Skills Group

Hosted by

Ellen Atkeson

Perimeter DBT offers four DBT Skills Group for High School aged Adolesents: Mondays @ 6pm, Wednesdays @ 5pm, Thursdays @ 4pm (this group is virtual), and Thursdays @ 610pm. I co-lead the Adolescent DBT Skills Group Thursdays 6:10-7:10pm and virtual Adolescent DBT Skills Classes Thursday. Each group meets weekly for 60 minutes. Group is broken up into four, six week long modules, each module focusing on a different set of DBT skills. Modules Taught: Mindfulness, Walking the Middle Path, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Distress Tolerance. New clients can join at the start of every 6 week module

Each group meets weekly for 90 minutes. Group is broken up up into three, eight week long modules, each module focusing on a different set of DBT skills. Age Range: 18 & up. Skills taught include: Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, and Distress Tolerance.
