I am accepting new individuals and families. I focus on your problems in living, the important life relationships, your perceptions of those. You know your history, what you have tried. I do not believe in cookie cutter solutions and your perceptions matter. I use your skills, insights to build on your strengths. Once you feel competent, involved and trusting in the work we do together, then I believe we are able to create the changes you want. As partners we work better when we are clear about the problems and possible outcomes and solutions. Again, this is a partnership and I look forward to creating change with you.
My work is very interpersonal and solution focused. Creating conditions necessary for change is most important. I focus very little on blame and much more on perceptions and the effects of our choices. Whether children, adolescents or adults, the process of change will often be very similar, even when the issues are different.
My office feels relaxed and I prefer that you feel that way when we work together. I hope that our "working conversations" allow you to continue the process of change after each session ends. I take responsibility for helping you consider your choices and their effects.
