I am committed to helping people - especially those with depression, anxiety, and eating disorders - understand themselves better so they can achieve a greater sense of fulfillment and satisfaction in life. I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families to reduce symptoms, develop healthy relationships, improve communication, and support self-realization. I believe that a safe, trusting, and collaborative relationship with a therapist can help people learn new ways of being that provide benefits throughout their lives.
I view depression, anxiety problems and disordered eating as symptoms of underlying psychological discomfort. I work within each client's unique experience to understand and relieve sources of psychological pain in order to increase satisfaction, improve functioning, and reduce or relieve symptoms.
When appropriate, I teach mindfulness skills to reduce symptoms, increase comfort, and foster great self-awareness.
